Bea's soap debuts at No. 1 in time slot

MANILA - "Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon," the new drama series starring Bea Alonzo as two characters, debuted on Monday as the most watched program in its timeslot, producer ABS-CBN said.

The pilot episode of the soap registered a nationwide rating of 21.7%, according to data from Kantar Media, while its competing program, GMA's "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real," only got 10.4% on the same night.

In "Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon," Alonzo portrays both Emanuelle and Rose, a lawyer and an heiress, respectively, whose lives become intertwined when one of them is accused of a crime she did not commit.

The primetime series also stars screen veterans Eddie Garcia, Anita Linda, and Susan Roces, along with Paulo Avelino, Dina Bonnevie, Tonton Gutierrez, Maricar Reyes, and Albert Martinez.

Under the direction of Jerome Pobocan and Trina Dayrit, "Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon" airs weeknight at 9:15 p.m. after "Ikaw Lamang."
