MANILA - Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson has nothing but praise for his girlfriend, actress Maja Salvador, and what she has achieved with her role in the hit series "The Legal Wife."
In an interview on Thursday, he said that the ire that her girlfriend's character, Nicole, is getting online is an indication of how convincing her portrayal has become.
"Ibig sabihin tama yung ginagawa niya, effective siya. Nandoon 'yung mga haters, 'yung mga bashers pero mas maraming nagpe-praise sa performance niya. That’s a blessing," he said.
Salvador plays a mistress to the relationship of Adrian (Jericho Rosales) and Monica (Angel Locsin). Set to air its finale tonight (June 13), the last few episodes have revolved around Adrian's accident and the confrontation between Monica and Nicole.
Anderson, who admittedly doesn't get to watch it regularly because of his lead role in "Dyesebel," also said that the rest of the cast has been nothing but spectacular.
"Nakakanood ako minsan. Madalas ako sa taping pero minsan nakakanood ako. Lahat sila magaling," he said.
Asked if he would consider a project that would partner him with Salvador, he said that he would turn it down as he wants to keep their relationship between themselves.
"As much as possible siyempre ina-avoid ko kasi gusto ko personal [ang relationship namin]. Naging kami so medyo nagsara na yung pintuan na magkatrabaho kami. But hindi natin alam," he said.
Anderson described his relationship with Salvador as "unique." He said that the controversies they went through have only made them stronger.
"Ayaw ko rin masyado magdetalye pero very unique siya kasi hindi biro yung pinagdaanan namin. Peron a-survive namin yun. We are both very strong people and sana tuluy-tuloy ng ganun," he said.
