MANILA, Philippines – Actress Amalia Fuentes was not able to contain her emotions when the topic about the 11 counts of libel that she filed against talent manager Annabelle Rama was raised.
Fuentes sued Rama of libel following the talent manager’s consecutive posts on the microblogging site Twiiter allegedly attacking her reputation and public image.
“I tried to fix this before kaya ko tinatawagan si Eddie para maayos namin ito. But what I got was more insults from her on Twitter,” the veteran actress said.
Fuentes, however, refused to comment on the outcome of the cases filed by former actress Nadia Montenegro against Rama.
Fuentes said she will just leave the issue for the courts to decide.
“I leave it to the courts na lang. Kung ang pinakamataas na mahistrado natin kailangan dumaan sa proseso ng korte, siya pa?” she said.
Aside from the 11 counts of libel that she filed against Rama, Fuentes also sued television host Bianca Gonzalez of the same charge.
Fuentes said she has nothing personal against Gonzalez but her article published on The Philippine Star is what sparked her row with Rama.
“Bianca is part of this because she is responsible for publishing an article. Never niya ako tinawagan,” she said.
Asked if she has anything to say to Gonzalez, Fuentes said: “Hindi ito personal hija, I have never met you. Pero kung gusto mo pa magsulat, siguro pag-aralan mo muna...sana this will be your last libel case.”
Fuentes said her camp is still studying if she will file a civil lawsuit against Rama.
ABS-CBN News tried to get the side of the talent manager through her lawyer but they have not issued any statement as of writing. – from a report by Ginger Conejero, ABS-CBN News
