MANILA - Three more housemates were deemed safe from eviction this week after winning the second "all-out" challenge in an episode of "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) that aired Wednesday.
Dubbed Team 2 and A Half, celebrity house guest Daniel Matsunaga, along with housemates Maris Racal and Vickie Rushton assured themselves at least another week's stay inside the "PBB" house.
The group joined teen housemate Nichole Baranda and Alex Gonzaga among those who can't be nominated from eviction this weekend. Baranda won the first "all-out" challenge on Tuesday, while Gonzaga still will be leaving the house.
In Wednesday's episode, the housemates were challenged to build the longest possible line, built vertically, from the available materials inside the "PBB" house. The group with the longest line automatically got immunity from being nominated for eviction.
"Ayaw ko po maging nominated, kaya gagawin ko po lahat. I'll do my best," Matsunaga told host "Kuya," before starting the challenge.
His group employed a direct approach, stocking bulky objects as the base of their tower and added empty jugs, gallons of water, basins and pots on top.
Their strategy would pay off later when Kuya surprised everyone that he would only count the towers that can stand on their own without the help of wires and ropes.
Other groups relied heavily on ropes to hold their tower together, like Team YOLO, which was composed of Fourth and Fifth Solomon and teen housemate Manolo Pedrosa.
In the end, Matsunaga's group won as their tower beat out the closest challengers by over 50 feet by measuring 212.4 feet.
"Pinoy Big Brother: All In" airs weeknights on Primetime Bida, and on Saturdays and Sundays as part of ABS-CBN's Yes! Weekend line-up. Afternoon updates are also aired via "Uber" on weekdays.
