MANILA - Almost 10 years since its Philippine premiere, the wildly popular Korean TV series "Lovers in Paris" is returning to ABS-CBN.
The re-run was announced through a televised teaser on Thursday, showing scenes from the SBS series that first aired locally in 2005.
It is set to premiere sometime in June.
"Lovers in Paris" tells the story of Carlo (Park Shin-yang), a rich businessman on a professional trip in Paris.
During his trip, he meets Vivian (Kim Jung-eun), an aspiring film student who applies to be his housekeeper to make ends meet in the French capital.
The two eventually fall in love, but not without complications.
In the Philippines, the series popularized the expression "Aja!" -- which, in Korea, means to rally or cheer someone.
Due to the popularity of "Lovers in Paris," ABS-CBN in 2009 made a local adaptation starring Piolo Pascual as Carlo and KC Concepcion as Vivian.
The series is also considered as the first "Koreanovela" to air in the country, following the massive success of Taiwan's "Meteor Garden" here.
