MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – “American Idol” runner-up Jessica Sanchez is singing in the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley bout in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
The spokesperson of Top Rank Entertainment has confirmed that the 16-year-old singer will sing the "Star-Spangled Banner" in the megafight.
In her official Twitter account, Sanchez shared her excitement to be part of the most-awaited event.
"Singing the American National Anthem @ the Pacquiao fight this Saturday in Vegas! I am sooooooooo ecstatic!! :)," Sanchez tweeted.
In Pacquiao’s past interviews, he said that he wants Sanchez to sing in one of his future fights.
Sanchez, on the other hand, had expressed that it would be an honor to be in one of the matches of the Filipino boxing superstar.
Kirby Asunto, 14, was handpicked by Pacquiao to sing the Philippine national anthem.
Asunto will be wearing a gown created by world-renowned Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino.
