MANILA – Actress Dina Bonnevie has finally opened up about the relationship of her former husband, comedian Vic Sotto, and actress Pauleen Luna.
In an interview with ABS-CBN entertainment site Push, Bonnevie said people should not judge Luna just because of their more than 30-year age gap.
“Of course a lot of people probably judge Pauleen kasi parang bata yan. ‘How can she be falling in love with a 60-year-old, come on,’ di ba? Parang it's next to impossible, pero hindi natin ma-judge 'yung tao eh. Iniisip ko na lang parang through all this she has to deal with Danica, with Oyo, with Vico and Paulina and that's not an easy task to do. So the mere fact na nandiyan sya eh 'di it must be something,” she said, referring to Sotto's four children from different women.
Bonnevie said the mere fact that Luna is putting up with all of Sotto’s children is already a major effort for the 25-year-old actress.
“I was never bitter. What I'm trying to say is she has a lot to put up with. But the mere fact that she's still there, maybe it's not right for people to judge her na she's not sincere. Kasi some people will say that she's after the money, ganyan. Pero can you imagine what the girl has to put up with, lahat yun? ‘A’ for effort 'yun, parang wow. Parang hindi naman madali yun,” she said.
Bonnevie also pointed out that Luna and Sotto continue to work with the comedian's former girlfriend, Pia Guanio.
“Can you imagine? Tapos andun pa 'yung ex-girlfriend slash I-don't-know-what (laughs). Di ba ang hirap? Parang sa loob loob ko lang, why doesn't one of them resign? Ano ba. I'm appalled. How can you be in the same show, come on. Parang can't one of you resign? Siguro they like being a happy family pero kung ako ang nasa shoes ni Pauleen mahihirapan ako kasi here's ex-girlfriend slash co-host, whatever,” she said.
Bonnevie said she is just hoping that Luna will stand by Sotto even when the actor gets older.
“Yung sa akin lang ha, sana kung talagang nagmamahalan sila hanggang sa pagputi ng buhok ni Vic, magkasakit siya or whatever, and she has to deal with so many other moms except me (laughs), kung totoo [yung pagmamahalan nila], sana nandun pa siya,” she said.
Since they separated, Bonnevie stressed that she and Sotto have maintained a good relationship.
“Kasi pagdating kay Vic, we're very good friends. Maybe not as close as we were before kasi before kahit na hiwalay na kami we talk to each other. Nagku-kuwentuhan kami. Minsan magkukuwento siya about his girlfriend, minsan kakamustahin niya yung boyfriend ko. Pero ngayon siyempre hindi na kasi meron na akong asawa and ayaw ko na makialam. Vic knows na whatever it’s worth, kung meron namang mangyari and he needs my help, I'll always be here,” she said.
Bonnevie added that she only wants the best for Sotto.
“Ang fear ko lang kasi kapag masyadong bata, kasi na-experience ko 'yun sa sister ko who is married to someone 14 years older than her. Ito more than 14 years. In the beginning it was okay; later on she was getting bored. Gusto pa niyang mag-party, sumayaw, mag-karaoke at travel whereas the husband just wants to stay home,” she added.
