MANILA - "The Legal Wife" remained the No. 1 show in its time slot and among the top five programs in the country on Monday despite facing new competition from a similarly themed series.
Now on its last two weeks, "The Legal Wife" registered a nationwide rating of 26.7% last June 2, according to Kantar Media.
"Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real," which premiered in the same time slot as the ABS-CBN series on that day, lagged behind by over 15 percentage-points with only 11.2% in national TV ratings.
The strong viewership of "The Legal Wife" last Monday was enough to make it the fourth most-watched program in the Philippines, trailing "Dyesebel," "Ikaw Lamang," and "TV Patrol" -- all ABS-CBN primetime shows -- in that order.
"Mirabella," also a Primetime Bida offering, placed fifth.
Since it premiered early this year, "The Legal Wife" has steadily increased its viewership nationwide, according to Kantar Media.
Its pilot episode on January 27 got 21% in national TV ratings. In April, the series averaged 23.5%. For the month of May, its average audience share soared to 26%.
Directed by Rory Quintos and Dado Lumibao, "The Legal Wife" stars Angel Locsin, Maja Salvador, Jericho Rosales, JC de Vera, Rio Locsin, Mark Gil, and Christopher de Leon.
