MANILA - TV director and Taguig City Representative Lino Cayetano shared with ABS-CBNnews.com his happiness as a first-time dad.
Cayetano's wife, former Ateneo volleyball player Fille Cainglet, gave birth last May 13.
"Very, very happy. Hindi ko nga ma-describe talaga o malagay sa salita yung feelings, basta very happy. Parang everyday, ibang saya yung nararamdaman kapag nakikita [ang baby], so very happy," Cayetano said.
Cayetano also explained why they chose to name their baby boy, Ino.
"Gusto kasi ng wife ko ni Fille Ino; ako naman, gusto ko Filip. Tapos naisip namin, ako kasi, gusto ko sounds like her name, Fille kasi siya (so) Filip. Siya siguro, gusto niya, sounds like Lino kasi nga mahal namin ang isa't isa. Siguro, yon ang rason nun, kasi Ino yung gusto niya, Filip ang gusto ko. Pinagsama namin, naging Ino Filip, so kapag binaligtad mo ay Filipino," he explained.
Cayetano and Cainglet tied the knot last December in Mactan, Cebu, which was attended by the couple’s family and close friends.
Cayetano said he's happy he has enough time for his family, his constituents in Taguig, and for his career as director.
He's now one of the directors of ABS-CBN's weekly show "Ipaglaban Mo" with hosts Atty. Jose Sison and Jopet Sison.
"Ang shoot lang naman nito ang kukunin ay isa o dalawang araw sa amin, siguro sa isang buwan ay ilan lang ang makukuha. Tulad niyan, in one year, may tatlo o apat na buwan kaming break. In two weeks, magsisimula na din ang break ng Kongreso, one month din ang aming break. So, sa akin, it works and it compliments each other as long as ganitong show, weekly, huwag lang yung soap. At the same time, yung ganitong materyal ay nakakatulong sa trabaho ko bilang congressman," Cayetano said.
"Ipaglaban Mo" will premiere on June 7.
