MANILA, Philippines -- Talk show host Boy Abunda, self-confessed fan of "American Idol" runner-up Jessica Sanchez, admitted that he really felt bad that the young singer didn't win the US talent show.

Abunda, who actively campaigned for Sanchez to win "American Idol," believes that Sanchez is the real winner.

I really felt bad. I will really be honest, I'm very disappointed. Hindi naman po disgusted. I'm disappointed that Jessica didn't make it," Abunda said.

After five months of following Sanchez's journey on "Idol," Abunda said he and many Filipinos have learned to love the 16-year-old and it was painful to see that after all the campaigning here and abroad, Sanchez still failed to bag the title.

We are proud of her," he said.

"The problem is nahirapan ako. I had to deal with it, totoo 'yon. I really felt very bad that she didn't make it dahil sa aking puso ay mas magaling si Jessica. of course, Phillip Phillips was deserving to win the title pero siyempre sa puso mo, kung ikaw ang tatanungin, ang panalo para sa 'yo ay si Jessica Sanchez," he explained.

Despite her loss, Abunda vowed to continue supporting Sanchez, who has said she wants to visit the Philippines.

I'm going to support this girl until the very last day I am on this Earth. That's the way we express ourselves as fans," Abunda said.
