'Kathniel' to star in 2nd TV series
MANILA -- Weeks after the debut solo concert of Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo shared the reason why she was moved to tears when she appeared on stage with her "love team."
The 17-year-old actress, in an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report (SIR)" aired Saturday, recalled her part in Padilla's April 30 concert.
In the closing parts of the show held at the Smart Araneta Colisum in Quezon City, Bernardo joined the 18-year-old actor for a duet, generating shrieks from thousands of fans at the venue.
Bernardo was then seen wiping her tears while addressing Padilla in her congratulatory message.
"I was overwhelemed, 'yun siguro 'yung right [word] para doon," the teen actress told "SIR." "Kasi po ako talaga 'yung nanay ni Daniel (laughs)."
"Ewan ko ba kung bakit doon ako naiyak. Sobrang daming tao kasi talaga," she added.
Bernardo said she and Padilla have also felt the same response from "Kathniel" (Kathryn and Daniel) fans in their other shows.
"Halimbawang nasa isang show ka, 'yung ginawa mo lang naman kumanta ka, ganyan, pero sila, makikita mo, angsaya-saya nila. Malaki rin pala 'yung impact ko sa kanila, so I'm very happy," she said.
The "impact" of their tandem was also felt on micro-blogging site Twitter early this month, when fans rejoiced over the announcement of the on-screen couple's new TV series, making both Padilla and Bernardo's names top trending topics.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, "Got to Believe" sees the second team-up of the two Kapamilya stars after the drama series "Princess and I."
Explaining the concept of the show, Bernardo said, "Feeling ko kasi 'yung love, super powerful siya. Kahit sino sa atin, pag tinamaan ka, it can change everything."
"Got to Believe" is expected to air some time this year on ABS-CBN.
