Thalia is Anthony Taberna's newest fan.
MANILA, Philippines – “Umagang Kay Ganda” host Anthony Taberna has found a new fan in Mexican star Thalia, who is known in the Philippines for her shows “Marimar” and “Maria la del Barrio.”

On Twitter, Thalia said she wants to follow Taberna on Twitter after watching his “Punto Por Punto” segment on Jessica Sanchez on the ABS-CBN morning show.

“Anthony Taberna, I’m gonna follow U (sic) on Twitter! RU (sic) following me also? Besos!” she said.

Fellow “Umagang Kay Ganda” host Bianca Gonzalez, meanwhile, asked her Twitter followers to encourage Taberna to join the microblogging site.

“Please help us RT (sic) for Anthony Taberna who is not yet on Twitter! Dear @thalia, muchas gracias senorita from Anthony. He is a fan!” Gonzalez said.

“Tunying, IKAW NA!!” she added.

Taberna invites Thalia to PH

Taberna, who does not have a Twitter account, extended his appreciation to Thalia during the program.

The host said that it was his wife who first told him that Thalia invited him on Twitter.

“Thank you, thank you po talaga. Medyo flattered po kami doon sa nangyari na ‘yan. Sabi nga namin, maliit na bagay lang pero coming from Thalia na kinalolokohan nating lahat, lalo na noong nagsimula ang ‘Marimar,’ ‘Maria la del Barrio’ at ‘Mercedes,’ lahat ng klaseng ‘Maria,’ maraming salamat. Thank you,” Taberna said.

He added that he is now thinking of opening a Twitter account.

“Pwede, pwede, ngayon gusto ko. Dati ayaw ko, sino ba naman ang hindi [makukumbinse]. Saka para panoorin niya ang Punto Por Punto, siguro akala niya ay Espanyol,” he said.

In the end, Taberna invited Thalia and her husband to come to the Philippines and appear as guests on “Umagang Kay Ganda.”

"Thalia, again thank you very much. Muchos gracias, senyorita, be my guest. Bamos, alas siyete na baka nagugutom ka, let's eat breakfast with your husband," he said in jest.

Thalia, a self-confessed fan of Sanchez, may have liked Taberna’s commentary on the Filipino-Mexican contestant on “American Idol,” the host said.

The Mexican star previously said that her husband, Tommy Mottala, will produce Sanchez’ debut album.
