'PBB' shocker: La Salle's Axel Torres evicted
MANILA - Despite apparent popularity online, "Jock Next Door" Axel Torres on Saturday became the second housemate to be evicted from the "Pinoy Big Brother" house.
Torres, who was automatically nominated for eviction after violating one of the competition's rules, received the lowest number of votes among the nominees. He only got 19.42%.
The three housemates who were saved from eviction were Aina Solano, Manolo Pedrosa, and Michele Gumabao.
Among the nominees, Torres was seen as the more popular housemate among viewers, having been a frequent trending topic on micro-blogging site Twitter in recent weeks.
In Saturday's episode of the show, it was also revealed that most of the housemates found the former team member of De La Salle University's men's basketball varsity to be a ladies' man.
According to celebrity house guest Alex Gonzaga, Torres' "friendliness" towards the female housemates was misleading at times, especially to the younger ones.
"Mayroon kang ugali na nagpapaasa ka ng babae na hindi mo naman pala intensyon," Gonzaga tells Torres in a scene shown in the episode. "Huwag mong bigyan ng double-meaning, lalong lalo na pag sa mga bagets, at least, para hindi ka maka-hurt ng ibang tao."
Before leaving the house, Torres hugged his fellow housemates, who were mostly in tears. "I'll see you guys outside," he said.
Speaking to the audience waiting outside the house, Torres said, "Sa mga sumusuporta sa akin, maraming, maraming salamat po."
