Anderson on Wednesday revealed his daring role in the upcoming 20th anniversary film offering of talent management firm Star Magic -- a "macho dancer," not for Chiu's character, but for that of comedienne-host Pokwang.
"[Ang role ko] plain and simple -- isa po akong macho dancer ni Ate Pokwang. Siya po ang suki ko," Anderson told ABS-CBN News during his first taping day for the project.
Chiu's role, according to the actress, figures into the film as the daughter of Pokwang's character.
"Mag-nanay kami ni Nanay Pokwang, kino-control ko siya, kasi minsan mas matanda pa ako sa kanya. Maganda 'yung banter namin, funny and serious sometimes," Chiu said.
On being reunited for a movie, Anderson, whose last project with Chiu was romantic film "Till My Heartache Ends" in 2010, said he feels excited to showcase their growth as actors since their last on-screen team-up.
"Syempre maninibago ka kasi last project namin more than a year [ago] pa. Pero more than ilangan, syempre mas excited, kasi 'yung mga natutunan namin last year, maipapakita namin dito," Anderson said.
Anderson, Chiu and Pokwang, will be joined by an all-star cast for the still-untitled film, including John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Maja Salvador, Diether Ocampo, Piolo Pascual, Jake Cuenca, John Lapus and Angelica Panganiban.
