MANILA -- Now that basketball superstar James Yap and his ex-wife, host-actress Kris Aquino, are back on good terms, some of their fans are hoping that the former celebrity couple would eventually end up together.
So what does the Finals MVP during the recently concluded PBA Commissioner’s Cup feel about a possible reconciliation with his ex?
"Ah ganoon? Huwag na. Naka-move on na lahat. I'm sure naka-move on na din si Kris. Ako ay naka-move on na din and I'm sure happy din si Bimb. So at least everybody happy," Yap said during a chance interview at Tuesday's PEP.ph event.
On "The Buzz" last Sunday, Aquino admitted that she feels uncomfortable when people still tease her with former husband.
“I feel so uncomfortable every time they post about James Yap and me saying na sana magkabalikan. Even today Boy, Mother Lily called me and said, ‘Kris, hindi tuloy 'yung Derek (Ramsay movie). 'Di ba hindi ka pinayagan? Kayo na lang ni James ang mag-movie,’” she told Boy Abunda, referring to Regal Films matriarch Lily Monteverde.
The actress-host said she politely rejected Monteverde’s offer.
Like Aquino, Yap said he is not open to the idea of doing a movie with his former wife. "Hindi ako marunong mag-ano (acting). Hindi ko alam, wala pa sa isip ko 'yan," he said.
Yap is currently in a relationship with Italian girlfriend, Michela Cazzola while Aquino hinted that she's entertaining a new suitor after Quezon City Mayor Herber Bautista said he was no longer pursuing the "Kris TV" host.
Asked of his reaction to Aquino's statement that she's now starting to like Cazzola, Yap said: "Thank you, thank you sa kanya. Magkaibigan naman kami."
