MANILA -- As early as now, comedian Vice Ganda is shrugging off talks of a rivalry with showbiz friends Kris Aquino and Coco Martin now that he is set to do the sequel of his hit film "The Unkobagable Praybeyt Benjamin."
Vice Ganda is set to work on the part two of his 2011 hit film with Aquino's youngest son, James "Bimby" Yap Jr., while Martin and Aquino will headline the sequel of 2004 hit horror film "Feng Shui."
The two films are expected to compete at this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
"Ganoon talaga. 'Yun nga lang tatlo kaming magkakaibigan na magtatatapat-tapat -- si Coco, ako at si Kris. Friendly competition ito," Vice Ganda said.
Asked if he feels nervous competing with his friends, the comedian replied: "Hindi ko ini-entertain, kailangan kong i-enjoy."
"Totoong may pressure kasi hindi ba malalala 'yung records na sini-set ng pelikula ko. Mayroong pressure pero patuloy lang akong nagdarasal. Ang bait ng Diyos sa akin. He never fails me and I never fail to trust Him," he added.
The "It's Showtime" host said he is excited to work with Aquino's son.
"Sabi niya magbabantay siya (si Kris) para maaga ang cut-off na pabor sa akin para 'di ako magdamagan mag-shooting," Vice Ganda said.
