Japanese-Filipina actress Iwa Moto in suicide try?
MANILA, Philippines – Japanese-Filipino actress Iwa Moto on Sunday was rushed to a hospital after she was found lying in bed unconscious, online reports said.
According to Stir.com, Moto was brought to Capitol Medical Center on May 15 due to drug overdose in what many believe as an attempt to commit suicide. The report said it was an overdose of doctor-prescribed antibiotics.
Television host and Moto’s housemate Justine Ferrer, one of the actress's friends who found her last Sunday, said Moto has been discharged from the hospital and is now resting.
Ferrer disputed reports that Moto had tried to kill herself by slashing her wrist.
In his account of the incident, which was posted on Philippine Entertainment Portal, Ferrer said he and two other people went up to Moto’s room after one of them heard a commotion upstairs.
One of his companions also heard someone groaning, he added.
He said they forced open the locked door and found the actress unconscious.
"Pagbukas namin ng ilaw, nakadapa na siya doon sa kama. Tapos ang daming suka!” Ferrer said. "Namumutla, tapos nangingitim ‘yong labi, tapos nangingitim ‘yong sa mata niya."
Ferrer said they could no longer talk to Moto then, but her eyes were slightly opened.
The incident took place 3 days after her public spat with former non-showbiz boyfriend Mickey Ablan.
On May 12, reports said Moto furiously smashed the front and back windows of Ablan’s car after her former boyfriend, driven by jealousy, had forcibly taken her cellphone.
Moto reportedly chased Ablan inside the compound of GMA 7. There was also an instance when the actress slipped while running after Ablan. She reportedly had to see a doctor to treat the wound on her left knee.
Moto purportedly tried to hurt herself because of the incident with Ablan.
