Melendez, who is a former councilor of the 2nd District of Quezon City, said she is still waiting for a sign whether to run for the same position in the same district next year.

"I have offers and I'm not closing my doors, and, yes, there are possibilities I might run, but I'm still waiting for a sign," Melendez said during a celebrity golf tournament on Monday.

Asked if she has already allied herself with a particular political party, Melendez said she will reveal in due time once she feels confident of her decision to run.

"Wala pa, I cannot reveal yet. But if and when I run, and kung saan [na partido], I'll let you know, 'pag go na go na ako. It means gusto ng Diyos na tumakbo talaga ako," she said.

If Melendez decides to run, she will join the growing stable of celebrities who will seek a government post in 2013.

Most recently, actress Alma Moreno has been announced to be a senatorial bet under Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.'s Bagong LAKAS-CMD party.
