MANILA – Hollywood superstar Vin Diesel is now in the country as his photos strolling around an open-air mall in Taguig City are now making the rounds online.
Diesel was supposed to have arrived in Manila on Monday night via a private plane.
In a Facebook post by Bonifacio High Street on Tuesday, Diesel is seen walking around the al fresco mall.
"Spotted at Bonifacio High Street today was the Fast and the Furious star, Vin Diesel. Photo by @issastar "Vin Diesel in Bonifacio High Street!!! #starstruck #fanmode #fanpic #igmanila #bonifaciohighstreet #bgc #may142013," the post said.
Another photo from Twitter user Diana Gatmaytan showed Diesel interacting with his fans at the Glorietta Mall in Makati.
Diesel and cast members of “Fast and Furious 6” are in Manila for the premiere of the Hollywood action blockbuster movie on Wednesday.
In a statement released last week, Solar Entertainment Corp.n said the celebrity premiere of the Hollywood action blockbuster "Fast and Furious 6" in Manila will push through as originally scheduled.
In a separate statement released on Tuesday, sponsor GBX Philippines said Diesel, Luke Evans, Michelle Rodriguez and Gina Carrano accompanied by the film producer Neal Mortiz and director Justin Lin will be in Manila for a press junket with various media outlets from key cities in the Asian region.
"Manila is part of a talent world tour that includes stops in other global cities including London, Seoul, and Cabo San Lucas," GBX said in its statement. "This bit of good news comes on the heels of Manila receiving global exposure in 2012 as one of the main location backdrops for the Hollywood action?thriller 'The Bourne Legacy.'"
The red carpet screening, which will be graced by the cast, will be held on May 15 at the SM Mall of Asia.
"It’s all systems go for us! We are very proud and excited that Manila, for the first time, has been chosen to be part of a world promo tour of an upcoming Hollywood movie. Moviegoers will be in for a treat as well,” said Wilson Tieng, Solar Entertainment president.
"Fast and Furious 6" is scheduled to open in the Philippines on May 24.
