MANILA - Actress Sunshine Cruz became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter Monday night after the airing of her testimonial for the hit primetime series "The Legal Wife," which tackles infidelity in a marriage.
"I think kasi, ano, realidad," Cruz said of the ABS-CBN soap in her testimonial aired during its commercial gap. "Hindi ko naman nilalahat ang mga lalaki, pero napakaraming lalaki talaga na ang weakness ay babae."
Cruz added: "Napakaraming babae ang nakaka-relate at maraming babae ang nanggigigil sa gano'ng sitwasyon. Siyempre, meron tayo minsang mga eksena na, 'Oops, parang tumatama.'"
The 36-year-old Cruz and Cesar Montano, her husband of 13 years with whom she has 3 children, separated in January 2013 over the actor's alleged affair with model-actress Krista Miller.
Before the controversial breakup involving Miller, the celebrity couple, by Cruz's admission, went through several rough patches due to Montano's "questionable" relationships with his co-workers.
Following a legal battle, the former couple agreed to share custody of their children, with Cruz filing a petition for the annulment their marriage in March this year.
After the airing of Cruz's testimonial for "The Legal Wife," wherein she also praised lead stars Angel Locsin and Maja Salvador, "Sunshine Cruz" zoomed up as one of the worldwide trends on Twitter, with netizens noting how the actress appeared to speak "from experience."
Aside from Cruz, a worldwide trending topic related to "The Legal Wife" on Monday was "Monica to Adrian," in reference to a scene between the characters portrayed by Locsin and Jericho Rosales where they emotionally break up.
"The Legal Wife," which is under the direction of Rory Quintos and Dado Lumibao, airs weeknights after "Ikaw Lamang" during ABS-CBN's primetime block.
