MANILA - Here's one thing to expect at Anne Curtis' "Annekapal" concert: not one, but two self-confessed non-singers will take the stage with a well-loved OPM classic, sung originally by Side A.
Curtis and TV host Luis Manzano, a close friend of the "Dyesebel" star, will perform a duet of "Forevermore" at the show dubbed the "Forbidden Concert" to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Friday.
"Hindi ko nga alam kung suporta 'tong gagawin ko o ikakasira pa niya!" Manzano quipped on the sidelines of rehearsals for the concert last Sunday. "Nandito ako para sumayaw, to give one -- quote, un-quote -- song number, which I'd like to call 'tula' naman talaga na gagawin ko sa kanyang concert."
Asked for his advice to Curtis, who is admittedly nervous for her second major concert, Manzano said, "Alam mo, 'yang kaba, para sa kanya... She's set an example na... She set it during her first concert, na it's okay to dream, and everything is possible."
"So para sa kanya, it's normal naman na kabahan, but think na lang na you're achieving your dream and showing people once again that anything is possible," he said.
Aside from Curtis' duet with Mazano, fans of the actress can expect performances from "legit singers," as Curtis described her guest stars, an opera-inspired number, and acrobatic stunts to go with her songs.
Curtis, who has said she "shouldn't be taken seriously" as a singer, added that the fun in the concert will come from unexpected song choices, as well as a fashion show of sorts with her outfit changes.
