MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino-Yap and her 3 female siblings on Sunday celebrated Mother’s Day at the grave of their mother, former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino, who passed away last year after a long battle with colon cancer.
Maria Elena "Ballsy" Aquino-Cruz, Corazon "Pinky" Aquino-Abellada, Victoria Elisa "Viel" Aquino-Dee, and Kris, along with their children, gathered at the Manila Memorial Park to remember the democracy icon.
Cory’s only son, Liberal Party’s standard-bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, was absent during the family gathering.
The Aquinos prayed the rosary and stayed at the cemetery for 30 minutes before heading home.
According to Kris, she dreamed of her mother recently. In the dream, the actress-television host shared that her mom was telling her to get ready because they were going to Boston, where the Aquino family stayed for years during martial law.
Kris said she was not sure what the dream meant.
When asked, meantime, about Monday’s national elections, Kris said: "It's all in the hands of God."
