MANILA, Philippines – With a "daring" big screen team-up with actress Angelica Panganiban in the works, actor Dingdong Dantes said his real-life girlfriend Marian Rivera is "very supportive" of his new project with the Kapamilya network.

conference for their new film under Star Cinema

In his second film with ABS-CBN’s film production outfit Star Cinema, Dantes is set to play the husband of Panganiban, whose relationship becomes tangled with that of the characters of actress Angel Locsin and actor Zanjoe Marudo.

The movie, which has the working title “One More Try,” is the second team-up of Dantes and Panganiban, who played a married couple in Star Cinema’s “Segunda Mano.” The horror film, which was also top-billed by Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, earned Dantes the Best Actor trophy at the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival.

“I feel very fortunate that I was given another chance. I’m very excited,” Dantes said during the story conference for the film on Tuesday. “I’m happy to work with Star Cinema again because they gave me such a wonderful experience exactly a year ago.”

The Ruel Bayani-directed starrer will be Dantes’ “most daring” portrayal, the actor revealed.

“I think kaya siya magiging daring dahil ‘yun ‘yung magiging resulta ng pagka-kumplikado ng plot,” he said.

Asked if Rivera is aware of the film’s sexy scenes, Dantes said his girlfriend, who is said to have had rifts with the actor’s former leading ladies, is very supportive of his new project with Panganiban and Locsin.

“She’s very supportive of it. Ganyan naman kami sa mga kanya-kanya namin projects eh, we support each other. Dahil sa totoo naman kumukuha kami ng lakas sa isa’t-isa,” Dantes said.

“Sa liit ng industriya there will really come a point na makakatrabaho at mae-ecounter mo ang iba’t-ibang arista, and I think this is the time na mangyayari ‘yun and it’s a job, and someone just has to do it,” he added.
