Pascual, who was 20 years old when he became a father, recounted how he came to terms with fathering a child at a relatively young age.
“Nu’ng una, hindi pa nagsi-sink in sa’kin eh, pero nu’ng nakikita ko na ‘yung anak ko, parang gusto kong gawing tama lahat for him, so naging mas responsible ako,” Pascual said in an interview on “Showbiz Inside Report” aired Saturday.
Iñigo, who will graduate in June according to Pascual, like his father is also musically-inclined and is active in sports.
“He composes songs, he plays the guitar, he dances, he sings,” Pascual said. “But he’s a soccer player now in school. He had a soccer game, pinanood ko siya.”
Pascual added that aside from watching Iñigo’s soccer game, they were also able to bond during the short time they were able to spend with each other.
“Nandu’n ako two weeks ago, I brought him to my happy place. Sabi niya, ‘Papa, saan tayo pupunta?’ Sabi ko, ‘Saan mo gusto?’ Sabi niya, ‘Kahit saan basta magkasama tayo,’” Pascual said.
“We love watching movies, we love taking road trips, and lagi kami magka-text, nagbibigayan kami ng photos, kasi baka makalimutan ko itsura niya,” he added.
Pascual also recounted his frustration over Iñigo being based in another country, while he (Pascual) attended to his showbiz career in the Philippines.
“Iniiyak ko ‘yun dati, iniyak ko ‘yun sa nanay ko sobra, sabi ko ang hirap. If I had it my way, I would have chosen him to stay with me, so he knows what kind of person I am, and at the same time makita ko siyang lumaki,” he said.
