MANILA, Philippines – Actress Jodi Sta. Maria will go to college this coming school year.
"This year mage-enroll na din ako, magka-college na din ako finally. Nakapili na ako ng school pero hindi ko muna sasabihin," said Sta. Maria, one of the stars of upcoming television show “100 Days to Heaven.”
Citing her fascination with science and the human body, she said she is taking up medical biology.
“Dati pa gusto ko ng maging doctor. Sobrang fascinated lang ako sa science at sa human body, 'Yon lang ang gusto ko talaga. Hindi ko makita ang sarili ko sa ibang kurso, kung hindi 'yon lang," she said.
“Dalawa lang ‘yong pinagpipilian ko ng specialization. It's either cardiology or oncology, ‘yong sa cancer,” she said.
Sta. Maria, who is married to Panfilo "Pampi" Lacson Jr. and has a son named Thirdy, graduated from high school last month.
"Si Thirdy naman kasi, when I started high school inuunti-unti ko hanggang sa maka-graduate ako this year, nakikita naman niya na nag-aaral si mommy. So kapag time ng pag-aaral ko, behave siya at alam niya ang plans ko sa life. I tell him everything. At his age, very supportive talaga siya,” Sta. Maria said.
Sta. Maria explained that conflict of schedule was the main reason she left radio dzMM’s "Radyo Negosyo" with Carl Balita.
Sta. Maria said her priority is "100 Days to Heaven" since it was offered to her first.
In the TV series, Sta. Maria is Sophia who will help Xyriel Manabat’s character so that she can complete her mission in 100 days.
Sta. Maria worked with Manabat in ABS-CBN's defunct series "Noah."
"100 Days to Heaven" also stars Coney Reyes, Joel Torre, Smokey Manoloto, and Valerie Concepcion. Xian Lim, Melai Cantiveros and Vice Ganda will make guest appearances on the show.
ABS-CBN's newest inspirational TV soap will premiere on Monday after “TV Patrol.”
