MANILA - They're at it again. Proving that they deserved to be named as one of the "golden buzzer" acts of the audition round, dancers Anjanette and Gervin, also known as the "Power Duo," took to the stage a similarly awe-inspiring and moving performance for the semi-finals of "Pilipinas Got Talent."
The fleet-footed and acrobatic pair danced to "Wag Ka Nang Umiyak," the theme song of the hit primetime series "Ang Probinsyano."
It earned them a standing ovation from all four judges, former ABS-CBN president Freddie Garcia, action star Robin Padilla, actress Angel Locsin, and comedian Vice Ganda.
"Sa punto kasing ito ng competition natin, wala nang bearing kung nabigyan ka ng golden buzzer eh," Vice Ganda told Power Duo, referring to Padilla's decision to send the two automatically to the semi-finals.
"Equal footing ulit kayo lahat dito, kailangan niyo kaming kumbinsihin ulin. Pero iyong ginawa ninyo, kung may golden buzzer lang ulit, pipindutin ulit namin iyon para sa inyo," he added.
For his part, Garcia said that Power Duo's performance was the best among those he has seen during the ongoing semi-finals. "Kayo lamang ang nagpakita ng napakagandang acts. From the beginning until now, I think you are the best and you deserve to be in the finals already," he said.
Power Duo was one of the four hopefuls from the third batch of semi-finalists of the talent competition. The others who performed during Saturday's episode were the youngest semi-finalists Matti, classical singer Francis Anne Virtudazo, and musical trio The Raes.
Hosted by Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford, "Pilipinas Got Talent" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
