MANILA - Boy Abunda will remain a Kapamilya for two more years.

The TV host renewed his contract with ABS-CBN on Wednesday during a press event attended by top officials of the network, including channel head Cory Vidanes and President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio.

According to Abunda, he will continue to co-host "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," which airs weeknights, and the Sunday showbiz talk show "Buzz ng Bayan."

His ongoing programs "The Bottomline with Boy Abunda," which airs late Saturdays/early Sundays, and the cable talk show "Inside the Cinema Circle" are also included in the contract.

Abunda said he is happy with the continued success of his shows, especially "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," which he co-hosts with close friend Kris Aquino.

"It's not work; it's fun!" Abunda said of working with Aquino. "Parang may motor memory, alam mo 'yon. When you sit beside her, you know exactly what to do. You can finish each other's lines. It's easy. We both work hard. We're both crazy readers, so it's an easy relationship."

Asked whether there are plans of extending the time slot of the show, which has a 15-minute quick-talk format, Abunda said, "You know, I like that, [when] I'm asked if it's going to slide, if it's going to evolve into a longer show. That's an indicator that people want to watch more of the show."

"I think it should stay where it is," he added. "That's where the magic is."

Abunda had been a co-anchor on ABS-CBN's "Bandila" for three years when he had to give up the role for "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," which premiered in February 2014.

Admitting he misses his popular "Ikaw Na" segment on the late-night newscast, Abunda said he has come to accept that some changes have to be made.

"I've always been open to what is best, not just for me, but for the network and for the shows," he said. "I've learned in the past years that it's not just about you, it's about other people, it's about the organization."

Abunda added: "So may mga palabas na kailangan gawin, may mga palabas na kinakailangan ipahinga muna. Gano'n 'yung sistema."
