MANILA, Philippines – The San Juan prosecutor's office has junked the theft charges filed by talent manager Annabelle Rama against actress Nadia Montenegro.

In her complaint, Rama accused Montenegro of stealing appliances and other home fixtures from her in 2010.
According to the fiscal’s resolution on the case, there is no sufficient evidence to support Rama’s allegations as there was no aggressive action or force made in obtaining the items.
Montenegro has maintained that the items in question were gifts from Rama years ago.
Meanwhile, the fiscal has affirmed Montenegro’s charges of grave oral defamation and grave coercion against Rama, who verbally attacked Montenegro following their court hearing in January.
The fiscal’s recommended bail for the said charges are P6,000 and P12,000, respectively.
In the same resolution, the fiscal’s office said there is no basis for the complaint filed by Montenegro against Rama that cites attempted murder. The charge recounts Rama’s alleged threat that she will run Montenegro over with a vehicle.
Rama is set to appeal the decision junking her theft charges against Montenegro, her lawyer said.
“Iaapela namin, naguguluhan kami. The mere fact that Nadia admitted na sa kanya ang gamit ni Annabelle is probable cause,” Atty. Howard Calleja said. – Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
