Actor John Lloyd Cruz. Star Cinema
MANILA - After months of preparation, John Lloyd Cruz is all set to reveal his improved physique at an upcoming fitness competition in Boracay.
The "Home Sweetie Home" star was introduced in February as the newest endorser of Century Tuna, which stages the annual Superbods pageant that promotes a healthy lifestyle.
In time for the finals night to be held on Saturday, Cruz underwent the Superbods Super Challenge for 6 weeks. It includes a diet program and workout plan designed by nutritionist Nadine Tengco and fitness trainer Jim Saret.
"When I turned 30, talagang dream ko na magkaroon ng sustainable, ng ganitong klaseng balanced lifestyle," Cruz told ABS-CBN News on Thursday, of taking up the challenge.
Aside from the Superbod fitness program, Cruz included biking in his routine.
"Parang ang ganda na ng nasimulan namin. Nakaka-inspire. Totoo pala yun, be a better version of yourself."
Asked if his fans can look forward to a hunkier Cruz with defined abs, the actor said, "Wala pa rin naman akong abs! Being a better version of yourself doesn't mean having a sculptured body.
More than having a physical transformation, Cruz said he was motivated to join the challenge to become healthier. He also shared how his family was a source of motivation as he underwent training.
