'Da Possessed' poised to become Vhong's biggest blockbuster

MANILA - Vhong Navarro's latest film, co-starring actress Solenn Heussaff, has reportedly passed the P40 million mark just three days after its nationwide premiere.

Star Cinema made the announcement on its official Instagram account on Tuesday with a photo captioned: "40M in 3 days! Patuloy na mapossess ng happiness sa #DaPossessed now on its 4th blockbuster day! #StarCinema20"

According to the producer, "Da Possessed" is poised to become Navarro's highest-grossing film following similar comedic outings such as "Agent X44," "Gagamboy," and "Mr. Suave."

Earlier in the day, the hosts of noontime program "It's Showtime" congratulated their co-host for the film's latest feat.

"Congratulations kila Solenn, Vhong at sa buong cast ng Da Possessed. Naka 40 million na sila in three days," said co-host Jhong Hilario.

Comedian Vice Ganda, who impersonated Vhong's co-star Heussaff throughout the show, added: "Thank you so much sa mga madlang people for watching our movie. Sana 'yung mga hindi pa nakakanuod, mag-watch na."

"Da Possessed," directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, follows the story of Ramon (Navarro), who falls in love with his boss Anna (Heussaff) after deciding to become a landscape artist. He is eventually possessed by three restless spirits in search of a permanent body to inhabit.

Other stars of the film Joey Marquez, Smokey Manaloto, John Lapus, Matet De Leon, Empoy Marquez, Beverly Salviejo, among others.

"Da Possessed" is currently showing in more than 130 cinemas nationwide.
