Actress Valerie "Bangs" Garcia said an independent film titled "Marino" is her next big project.
Garcia, who is now back on ABS-CBN via afternoon series "Kambal sa Uma," said "Marino" deals with the struggles and sacrifices of Filipino seamen and the families they left behind.
She said her role in the movie is different from the characters she usually plays.
Garcia revealed that initially she was offered to portray the character of a mistress but she declined it because she wants to keep her wholesome image.
According to Garcia, "Marino" is set to be shown this coming June or July.
Aside from "Marino," Garcia will also be doing another independent film with young actors Rainier Castillo, Iwa Moto, Ryza Cenon and Mark Herras.
