"Gusto kong patunayan sa kanilang lahat na hindi ako sayang."
That was the thought that ran through Beauty Gonzalez's mind when, having disappeared from the limelight for a year due to pregnancy, she was mulling whether to accept the offer to topbill the upcoming television series "Pusong Ligaw."
A former contestant of "Pinoy Big Brother," Gonzalez found fame after being cast in the morning series "Dream Dad." She nabbed another lead role in "Ningning" soon after, but her rise came to an abrupt stop when she had to exit the show after she found that she was carrying a child.
By her own admission, Gonzalez thought her career was over.
She managed a slow crawl back, however, and was cast as part of the movie "The Achy Breaky Hearts" with Jodi Sta. Maria last year. Now, she is busy promoting "Pusong Ligaw" --and she couldn't be more grateful for this second chance.
"Hindi ko ito in-expect and siguro isa sa dahilan kaya nakabalik ako --I must say mabait ako sa lahat ng tao, nakikisama ako sa lahat," Gonzalez explained in an interview on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Thursday.
"And dahil doon naalala nila ako. And also, napatunayan ko rin naman na may talent ako. Gusto ko rin na now I'm back, gusto ko rin patunayan sa kanilang lahat na hindi ako sayang. Kasi nga nabuntis ako and everything, and I want to show them na I'm not sayang."
The series' other stars include Sofia Andres, Diego Loyzaga, Bianca King, Enzo Pineda, Joem Bascon, and Raymond Bagatsing. It is directed by GB Sampedro, Elfren Vibar, and Henry King Quitain.
"Pusong Ligaw" will begin airing on Monday, replacing "The Greatest Love."
