Solenn shows comedic side in 'Da Possessed'
MANILA - French-Filipina actress Solenn Heussaff, who is dubbed as one of local showbiz's "It Girls," promises to show her wacky side in her first-ever movie with ABS-CBN, "Da Possessed."
The horror-comedy film, which will hit theaters on Black Saturday, April 19, features the 28-year-old actress as the love interest of lead star Vhong Navarro.
"Da Possessed," which is under the direction of Joyce Bernal, centers on Ramon (Navarro) as he tries to venture into landscape art. Ramon falls for his boss, Anna (Heussaff), but the situation takes a wacky turn when three different spirits start to possess his body.
Navarro, who has several hit comedy movies to his name, said he sees promise in Heussaff as a comedian. A former VJ and model, Heussaff has been known for her sexy roles as a showbiz newcomer.
Bernal, who marks her fourth team-up with Navarro in "Da Possessed," praised Heussaff for gamely making fun of herself in several scenes, which the director said contributed significantly to the film.
Napaka-gaan niyang katrabaho.
A co-production between Star Cinema and Regal Films, "Da Possessed" also stars Smokey Manaloto, Empoy, John Lapus, Beverly Salviejo, Lito Pimentel, Joy Viado, Aaliyah Belmoro, Matet De Leon, and Joey Marquez.
"This is definitely a major milestone in my career," said Heussaff. "It's such an honor to finally work with Vhong, Direk Joyce, and Star Cinema in this awesome project."
