Vice Ganda and Gonzaga, who both have a string of mega-hits under their belt, will join forces in a comedy film under Star Cinema.
“May movie ako with Toni Gonzaga sa Star Cinema. Exciting kasi nami-miss ko na talaga si Toni, ang-tagal na namin hindi nagkakasama,” Vice Ganda said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
“Buti binigay ‘tong project. Unkabogable to, hintayin niyo, masaya. For sure comedy ‘to, si Toni Gonzaga sobrang patawa eh.”
Gonzaga, who was also recently awarded as Best Female Concert Performer at the Guillermo Mendoza Entertainment Awards, has confirmed talks for a sequel to Star Cinema’s “My Amnesia Girl,” in addition to another unannounced film project.
While Vice Ganda continues to enjoy a thriving showbiz career, the host of the noontime show "It's Showtime" has his share of detractors.
Just last week, Vice Ganda was rumored to be the cause of the resignation of “It’s Showtime” director Bobet Vidanes, which was quickly denied by ABS-CBN.
“Nag-resign daw si Direk Bobet, eh ayan si Direk Bobet, nasa ‘Showtime,’ tapos magkaaway raw kami. Mga echosera!” he said.
Vice Ganda admitted that he cannot please everyone, but he also cautioned his detractors against being envious of other people's success.
“Hindi naman lahat mapi-please ko, hindi naman lahat nagmamahal sa’kin, meron ding mga gustong sumira. Pero OK lang ‘yun, hindi naman kayo nagtatagumpay. Nandito pa rin naman ako. Eto nga’t may bagong title, award na dumating sa akin,” he said.
“I’m so blessed, I’m so lucky na nae-enjoy ko ‘tong ganitong kasarap na buhay. Kung naiinggit kayo, ‘wag na. Blessed rin naman kayo, dapat ma-realize niyo ‘yun.”
