'Princess and I' pilot scores in TV ratings

MANILA, Philippines -  The pilot episode of ABS-CBN’s new television series “Princess and I” on Monday soared high in the national TV ratings.

According to the latest data from Kantar Media, “Princess and I” ruled its timeslot with a 31.7% national TV ratings with its first episode, compared to the 16.3% national TV rating of its rival program “Biritera” on GMA7.

Topbilled by the newest "Primetime Princess" Kathryn Bernardo together with a powerhouse cast which include Albert Martinez, Gretchen Barretto, Precious Lara Quigaman, Enrique Gil, Daniel Padilla and Khalil Ramos, the show also became the No. 1 nationwide and worldwide trending topic on Twitter as fans praised the show's cast, plot, cinematography, musical score and set.

"Princess and I" tells the story of Mikay, a long-lost princess who will soon discover her real identity and return to her kingdom. It airs weeknights after “TV Patrol” on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.
