MANILA -- The much-awaited comeback of "The Voice of the Philippines" on Sunday proved to be a huge ratings winner, according to the data released by Kantar Media.
The first episode of "The Voice Teens" had a whopping national TV rating of 37.9%, while its rival program “Tsuperhero” only garnered 15.1%.
"The Voice Teens" also topped the list of the most watched programs across urban and rural homes nationwide. It was also a hot topic on social media, especially on Twitter.
A first in Asia, the sixth edition of "The Voice" features aspiring teen singers. They will have a chance to be coached by four of the industry's most accomplished stars: Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Sharon Cuneta.
On the pilot episode, each of the four coaches got one aspiring teen singer for their respective teams. Mikko Estrada of Makati landed in Geronimo's team, Isabela Vinzon of Pampanga chose Bamboo, Patrick Corporal of Sampaloc picked Salonga, while Zyra Peralta of Cavite went with Cuneta.
