MANILA, Philippines - Filipino rock band Kamikazee on Tuesday released its fourth album, "Romantico," which features songs about their love experiences.

Nag-set kami ng limitations na why not write about puro kwento ng pag-ibig, inspired ng friends and families....," drummer Allan "Bords" Burdeos said during the album launch.

"May mga kanta kami na hindi din sinama kasi hindi nga bagay sa album, kaya sinadya namin na 'Romantico,' kasi the songs are all about love," frontman Jay Contreras explained.

Kamikazee, which also includes Jomal Linao on guitars and backing vocals,Led Tuyay on guitars, and Puto Astete on bass, is the band behind the hits "Narda" and "Tsinelas."

Contreras said the new album simply shows that even rockers know how it feels to love and be loved.

The members of Kamikazee, in fact, said this is the first time they agreed on the album's theme first before the actual songs were written.

The band explained that usually their songs come first before they think of an album concept. For "Romantico," they agreed early on that they want "love" as its central theme.

"First time talaga namin gumawa na may theme na album so parang medyo in a way nahirapan kami sa paggawa ng kanta at pag-put together ng album.

The CD's first single "Halik" tells about love grown tired, expressed in Kamikazee's signature style.

Other songs included in the album are "TNT", "Tamis", "Tagpuan", "Sana", "Sobrang Lungkot", "Kislap", "Wo-oh", "Paano" and "Huling Sayaw."

The band also recorded their own version of Menudo's hit "If You Are Not Here (By My Side)."

A stronger Kamikazee

After 12 years since the band was formed, the members said they are still solid as a group.

And they all agreed that the key to their strong relationship is their love for music.

He also added that the support of their fans helps keep the band inspired.

For Tuyay, he believes that the respect they have for each other is also a factor to the group's continued success.
