MANILA – Film director Paul Soriano has yet to propose, but his long-time girlfriend, actress Toni Gonzaga, does not feel the pressure of settling down.
Gonzaga made the statement following the consecutive weddings or engagements of her celebrity friends in recent months.
She said she believes that her time will also come.
"Hindi [ako nape-pressure]. Akala nga nila ako 'yung mauuna sa aming tatlo. Nararamdaman ko na ako yung last. Dadating tayo doon. Nararamdaman ko din naman siya, pero ayaw ko i-rush," she said.
Soriano, who is Gonzaga's boyfriend for seven years now, has been vocal about his plans of proposing to the Kapamilya TV host.
He said that they are just waiting for "God’s perfect time."
For now, Gonzaga said she is excited for her close friend and fellow "Pinoy Big Brother" host Bianca Gonzalez who will walk down the aisle this year.
"Kahit wala akong participation, kahit mag-attend lang ako, sabi ko kay Bianca gustung-gusto lang makita na pagbukas ng door, naka-gown siya na puti. Baka maiyak ako talaga," she said.
"Si Bianca hindi naman talaga siya ma-discuss na 'I want to get married.' So nung nangyari lahat 'yun, she deserves it. Even the way na nag-propose, sabi ko deserving siya," she added.
Basketball player JC Intal proposed to Gonzalez at the airport before she left for London last March 20.
When asked if she will also share to the world the news once she gets engaged, Gonzaga said: "It’s something na mahirap itago ng isang babae kasi when you have so much joy in your heart, you want to share it. Ayaw mo naman ipagkait ang kaligayahan na 'yun sa mundo."
"Sabi ko nga kay Bianca nakakatuwa kasi she’s really a host and a career woman so hindi siya talaga nagpepelikula so for her to experience that kind of proposal, parang naramdaman na rin niya what it's like to be in the movies," she added.
