MANILA – Gary Valenciano successfully held the first part of his two-day concert at the jam-packed Araneta Coliseum on Friday night to mark his 30th year in the entertainment industry.
The concert, dubbed "Arise," saw Mr. Pure Energy performing all-time favorite hits such as "Di Bale Na Lang," "Hataw Na," "Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos," "Di Na Natuto" and more.
Among the special guests in the concert were pop star Sarah Geronimo who wowed the crowd in a dance-off with Valenciano.
Sam Concepcion also tried to match Mr. Pure Energy in a performance that got the crowd singing and dancing along.
Singer and former Rivermaya frontman Rico Blanco also impressed the audience with his dancing skills while performing the song "Babalik Ka Rin" with Gray V.
But before the night ended, Valenciano's children, Kiana and Gab, also joined their father on stage in a rare family dance performance.
The second part of the concert is set on Saturday night at the Big Dome.
Part of the proceeds of Valenciano's the two-night show will go to victims of typhoon "Yolanda."
"It's my effort kasi alam ko hindi na masyado pinag-uusapan kung ano ang nangyari doon at ano pa ang kailangan nila doon. It's my way of making them know na I remember," Valenciano said in an earlier interview.
