MANILA - Gabriel "Gab" Valenciano, who made headlines for his "super selfie" videos, is back in the Philippines to be part of his father Gary Valenciano's 30th anniversary concert.
Titled "Arise," the veteran performer's concert will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on April 11 and 12.
In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com on Friday, Gab said he never expected that his videos would make it big on YouTube and would go viral.
"Hindi talaga, kasi kumbaga puro kalokohan lang 'yon, extra energy. Like sinabi ng brother ko (Paolo Valenciano), mag-isa lang ako sa States, wala akong magawa at nasa bahay lang ako, tapos school, tapos bahay, sa school.
"So inisip ko kailangan kong ilabas ang pagkatao ko and to share it with the world malay ko ba na 'yun mangyayari," said Gab, who left for the United States in 2013 to study.
Gab also bared that because of his "super selfie" videos, he got a big project in US. He refused to give more details about the said project.
"Actually iyon 'yung reason kung bakit itong 'malaking project' na nangyari ... is because of my super selfies. Actually I will be shooting a lot of super selfies here in Manila with various artists at doon super excited ako," he said.
"Sa May makikita niyo na ako 'yon and I'm so excited na lumabas na siya, pero hindi ko masabi," he added.
He also shared that he is overwhelmed that even Hollywood stars are liking his "super selfie" videos. Late last month, the viral clips caught the attention of "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams.
"Doon ako nagugulat kasi it takes me less than five minutes to shoot a super selfie, takes me 10 minutes to edit tapos post yun na yon, parang in my mind parang kapag hindi mo ini-expect doon talaga naghi-hit," Gab said.
