With an average audience share of 41% in March, the Kapamilya network carried over its 10-point lead over GMA-7 in February to last month.
ABS-CBN also continued to post a wide lead over TV5, which registered an audience share of only 13% in March, according to the latest TV ratings data from multinational market research group Kantar Media.
The consistent TV viewership lead of ABS-CBN across the country is seen in the high ratings of its primetime and weekend programs, led by the inspirational superhero series "Juan dela Cruz" and the drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya."
Airing before "Juan dela Cruz" during ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block is the network's flagship newscast "TV Patrol," which ranked fifth in the most watched programs in the country last month with an average rating of 26.4%.
The Coco Martin-starrer, which reigned at No. 1, meanwhile, registered an average nationwide audience share of 35.7%.
Other primetime programs that figured in the top 10 list of the highest rating TV shows are "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" at No. 2 with an average rating of 34%; and "Apoy sa Dagat, No. 8 with 23.8%.
All combined, the primetime offerings of ABS-CBN, which air between 6 p.m. and 12 midnight, garnered an average audience share of 47% in March, which is 17 percentage-points ahead of their counterpart on GMA-7.
A notable entry in the top 10 list of nationwide TV favorites is "Be Careful With My Heart," which is the lone program which airs during daytime among its fellow top-raters.
With an average nationwide rating of 25.7%, the hit "kilig-serye," which airs at 11:45 a.m. on weekdays, took the seventh spot.
Bolstering ABS-CBN's ratings lead across the country last month are its weekend programs, with "Maalaala Mo Kaya" coming in third as a nationwide top-rater with an average audience share of 32.3%.
The fantasy anthology "Wansapanataym" trailed at fourth with 29.3%. Taking the sixth, ninth and 10th spots, respectively, were the reality talent search "Pilipinas Got Talent" with 26.2%; the current affairs program "Rated K," 23.1%; and the kiddie gag show "Goin' Bulilit," 20.9%.
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
