MANILA, Philippines – Nine teens showed off what they've learned from The Music School of Ryan Cayabyab (TMSRC) in a recital held at Teatrino, San Juan last Friday.

Krysty Alde, Francine Arcilla, Momoko Arima, Marushia Boliche, Ruth Gomez, Janina Gonzales, Jose Angelo Gonzales, Rafael Gutierrez and Lorenzo Mendoza performed songs from different genres -- rock, ballad, jazz, and rhythm and blues (R&B), among others -- during the recital.

The teens, aged 14 to 18, received scholarship grants from the Music Museum Group (MMG) for a 10-month, 3-level music performance course at TMSRC under Cayabyab.

They emerged as the best in the MUSIKabataan, a musical talent search for teenagers held last summer.

Previous scholars in the said program have proved outstanding in music competitions. Kid scholars Leon Matawaran and Tintin De Leon, for instance, bagged lead roles in The Lion King -- Children Edition held in Singapore's Marina Bay Sands last month.
