MANILA - The Philippines has a new No. 1 TV program.
"Dyesebel," ABS-CBN's adaptation of the Mars Ravelo comics series with Anne Curtis in the title role, swept its first 2 weeks on air as the most watched program nationwide, according to Kantar Media.
The Primetime Bida series, which airs after "TV Patrol" on weekdays, consistently topped national TV ratings since its March 17 premiere, as measured by Kantar Media using a panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes.
"Dyesebel" continued its winning streak on Monday, March 31, as it reached 33.1% in nationwide ratings -- a replication of its biggest viewership so far which it first got last March 20.
Meanwhile, in the series' April 1 episode, Curtis is finally seen as the adult Dyesebel, with other principal cast members debuting in the episode's closing minutes -- Gerald Anderson as Fredo, Sam Milby as Liro, and Andi Eigenmann as Betty.
Directed by Don Cuaresma and Francis Pasion, "Dyesebel" also stars Dawn Zulueta, Ai Ai delas Alas, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Eula Valdez, and Gabby Concepcion.
