MANILA, Philippines – Actor Matteo Guidicelli said his relationship with actress Maja Salvador is now “stronger, better and happier.”

In an interview with Push.com.ph, Guidicelli said he and Salvador are now more mature in handling their relationship.

“I guess in every relationship after time passes, you get to know the person better. Everything gets better. You learn more about each other, you trust each other more, so as time goes [by], you learn more and you learn to love more,” he said.

The young couple's relationship was tested last year when Guidicelli got into a fist fight with fellow actor Coco Martin.

In an interview, Salvador admitted she was the reason the two got into a brawl.

Salvador also said Martin had already apologized over the incident.

‘Cactus Heart’ poorly received?

Meanwhile, Guidicelli denied allegations his first movie with Salvador "My Cactus Heart" was poorly received.

Guidicelli said he has heard of a lot of good reviews for the movie and he is happy about it.

“Hindi totoo ‘yan, may mga projects na gusto nila magkasama kami pero we’ll see what’s going to happen. Maraming mga offers pero we’ll see. Siyempre when you’re in a relationship it’s hard to work [together] but our movie, they liked it,” he clarified.

“A lot of supporters liked it. It was an indie movie so hindi naman expected na malaki ang kita ‘di ba? Pero it went above the budget. Okay naman lahat,” he added.

According to Box Office Mojo, "My Cactus Heart," which was released in late January, has earned an estimated $542,331 or P23.14 million during its theatrical run.

Guidicelli is currently preparing for another television series which is expected to join ABS-CBN’s primetime block.

“Iba siya. Iba ang [mga] kasama, ibang story, ibang ako,” he said.

Guidicelli, however, refused to divulge more details about the new project.
