MANILA – Almost a year after the 2013 mid-term elections, host-actor Vice Ganda and Senator Nancy Binay had dinner together on Tuesday, which was hosted by their common friend.
This was revealed by Kris Aquino during the live broadcast of her show “Aquino and Abunda Tonight.”
“I was so fascinated. Kanina I was being invited to a dinner because it’s Bernard Cloma’s birthday. Alam mo kung sino ang ka-dinner niya? Sila Vice Ganda and Nancy Binay. Pwede talaga magka love love love, peace and harmony,” she said.
In May 2013, Vice Ganda publicly criticized Binay, saying he was not impressed with the track record -- or the lack of it -- of the then-senatorial candidate.
The "It's Showtime" host mentioned the name of Vice President Jejomar Binay's daughter when he was asked about pursuing a career in public service.
"Gusto ko president ako agad," Vice Ganda said in jest, "'Yung wala kang background, pero mataas agad, parang 'yung mga pulitiko lang ngayon. Walang background, pero senador agad."
Binay, at the time, just shrugged off Vice Ganda’s comment, noting she has had decades of "on-the-job training" under her parents, who have held seats in public office.
Prior to her Senate bid, Binay worked as her father's personal assistant and as deputy secretary general of the United Nationalist Alliance.
Binay is now among the 24 incumbent senators of the 16th Congress.
As a proof that everyone has already moved on, Vice Ganda posted a picture of him with Binay on his Instagram account on Tuesday night.
The picture was accompanied by the caption: “Love! Love! Love! Happy Birthday @bernardcloma!!! @nancybinay”
