MANILA - Vice Ganda wasn't alone in shrieking when broadcast journalist Atom Araullo emerged on stage Monday night during the comedian's birthday celebration on his talk show "Gandang Gabi Vice."
The "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" star was treated to a surprise by sisters Alex and Toni Gonzaga, who co-hosted the talk show's special episode, by blindfolding him before coming face to face with Araullo, who knelt on one knee as he handed him a bouquet of flowers.
Vice Ganda, who will turn 38 on March 31, screamed at the sight of Araullo, who he openly referred to as his "crush" as the "Umagang Kay Ganda" host sat down for an interview.
As with most guests on "Gandang Gabi Vice," the comedian had playful banter with Araullo, and at one point requested a kiss from the heartthrob reporter as a birthday gift.
Araullo was one of the surprise appearances at Vice Ganda's birthday show, "Birthday-Birthday Din Pag May Time," which was held at Resorts World Manila's Newport Performing Arts Theater. It had several other celebrities as performers and guests, including Daniel Padilla, Vhong Navarro and Dionesia Pacquiao.
The special "Gandang Gabi Vice" episodes will air weekly starting Sunday.
