MANILA – Meg Imperial does not feel too comfortable when men look at her in a different way.
In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, Imperial said she does not want the public to see her only as a sexy actress since she hopes they would also notice her talent.
“Hindi naman ako nag-start as sensual. Nag-umpisa ako sa teenybopper na roles. Nung FHM lang siguro medyo nagkaroon ako ng confidence sa sarili ko na I can be sexy naman in a nice way. It doesn’t mean naman na sexy ka, kailangan mo maghubad in front of many people at ipakita mo sa kanila 'yung buong katawan mo. Hindi ganun,” she said.
Asked if she is willing to go full nude when a role asks for it, Imperial said: “Ako siguro sa ngayon hindi ko masasabi. Parang for me, if may talent ka naman, hindi ka naman ipakita lahat.”
“Hindi naman ni-launch para maghubad sa mga tao. Sexy lang and sensual. Parte lang siya ng packaging, ng image pero pag-arte talaga 'yung gusto kong i-showcase sa mga tao,” she said.
Imperial is part of ABS-CBN’s upcoming series “Moon of Desire.” The series will co-star JC de Vera, Ellen Adarna, Dominic Roque and Miko Raval.
In a previous interview, Imperial also said the series is more than just a sexy-drama show.
"Ito po 'yung teleserye na may kwento po talaga. May medical [aspect], may love story. It's about hypertrichosis or abnormal hair growth sa katawan ng tao,” she said.
Imperial, 21, said she will exude a "sexy but innocent" aura in her new soap.
Meanwhile, the actress said she is blessed to have JC de Vera as her leading man because he is truly a gentleman.
“Nagkatrabaho na kasi kami ni JC before so siguro bawas na 'yung ilang factor. Ngayon ko lang nakilala si JC na hindi naman pala siya tahimik, kalog din pala siya and gentleman. Kapag may kissing scenes, hindi na nakakailang kasi approachable siya eh,” she said.
“Moon of Desire” is set to premiere on March 31 during the Kapamilya Gold timeslot.
