MANILA – Teen star Julia Barretto admitted she almost gave up on her showbiz dreams when her supposed series “Confradia” got cancelled.
In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, Barretto said she thought to just focus on her studies but the actress in her reminded her to not give up easily.
“After being launched as ‘Confradia’ tapos na-cancel 'yun, medyo I lost hope. Pero like what I always say, I’m a positive person. I always believe na there’s something out there for me and magiging patient lang ako,” she said.
Despite the show’s cancellation, the young Barretto said she continued with her workshops until her prayers were answered when “Mirabella” came up.
Asked how she felt when she learned that she’ll be working opposite Enrique Gil in the series, Barretto simply said: “Exciting.”
Aside from Gil’s good looks, Barretto said she is fortunate because she can learn from him.
“It’s nice to be able to work with somebody na madami ng experience para madami kang matututunan from your co-actor. So exciting. Of course, he’s cute,” she said.
Aside from Barretto and Gil, “Mirabella” will also feature Sam Concepcion. It is set to premiere on Monday right before “TV Patrol.”
