Albert Martinez says goodbye to 'Dyesebel'

MANILA - Actor Albert Martinez is no longer part of ABS-CBN's newest fantasy series "Dyesebel" after his character, Prinsipe Tino, died.

On Thursday's episode of the show, Tino died after trying to protect his wife Lucia (Dawn Zulueta) and daughter Dyesebel (Anne Curtis) from people who have discovered that he is a merman.

After being mauled, Tino tried to escape but was killed by one of the antagonists, Badong (John Regala).

Before his last breath, Tino asked his friend Banak (Ai Ai delas Alas) to take care of his daughter.

On the microblogging site Twitter, netizens expressed their sadness over the death of Martinez' character in the show.

"Paalam Prinsipe Tino @albertmartinez_ :((( mamimiss ka namin, congrats po sa mataas ng ratings ng [Dyesebel]," user Eeyore wrote.

"Bowdown for Prinsipe Tino. Omg.. He's sooo hot. #DyesebelAngPagbagsakNiTino," user LaicaLustre wrote.

"Brokenhearted ko!! kay namatay si prinsepe tino. #dyesebel," user jmarangoso added.

Curtis, the show's lead star, also lamented the death of Martinez' character.

"Thank you again to everyone that tuned in tonight. Sadness Ang #DyesebelAngPagbagsakNiTino," she wrote.

On Instagram, Martinez posted a screen grab of his death scene with the caption: "#dyesebel #aldawn @am_fanatics @aldawnbabies @direkdon... 'PAALAM'....."

On Wednesday's episode, Tino's father, Haring Aurelio (Jaime Fabregas) also died after he was poisoned by his partner Dyangga (Eula Valdez) to get his throne.
