MANILA – Gabriel Macht, known for his role as lawyer Harvey Specter in the hit US TV series “Suits,” is set to visit the country this weekend.

Macht will arrive in the Philippines on March 8 to visit survivors of super typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) in Ormoc, Leyte, according to Globe Telecom.

The actor has joined Globe Telecom's Project Wonderful nation-building efforts. The telecommunications firm has partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to help grant livelihood opportunities to beneficiaries identified by the government agency.

"Witnessing the devastation of typhoon Haiyan, I felt compelled to raise awareness and financial aid to help thousands of people still struggling to get back on their feet. There is so much work still to do. I’m excited to be part of rebuilding and I’m hoping that so many more will join the effort," Macht said.

Globe vice president for prepaid business Issa Cabreira, for her part, said: "Project Wonderful is thankful to Mr. Gabriel Macht for coming in to support us."

Aside from "Suits," Macht is also known for the movies "Love & Other Drugs", "The Spirit" and "The Good Shepherd."
